  • BBQ Competition + Richtee = Good Time

We (Portly Fellas BBQ) entered into the Freedom RV Annual Hometown BBQ Throwdown in Tucson AZ this weekend.

Lucky enough for us Rich was in AZ visiting the in-laws so he took a cruise down to Tucson and met up w/ us. We competed against 35 other teams in the warm (very warm) AZ sunshine.

    Time for awards

First call was a 6th Place in chicken and a nifty little plaque

Second call was a 1ST PLACE IN PORK

Portly Fellas BBQ ended up w/ a 6th Place overall.

Made it back late afternoon, exhausted, but w/ a couple pieces of hardware

Hell Yeah! for a great run...Glad that Rich could join you. If
Rich was around my comp, I'd have him building the boxes or at least directing the gig.

Fantastic! Wish I'd been there. We won't be in AZ for another week or so. Probably be hanging out around Apache Junction. Congratulations on the trophies.

Nicely done Bill & congrats on the Pork & the overall finish.
That's a right shiny dust collector you picked up...
I'm a bit surprised you didn't get a call on your brisket... I've had it before & it rocks...

So, how did Rich do in the smoked cheese category??? After all, presentation counts...
