I'd still go for this over the lem.

Just better designed to push the meat out efficiently, those shiny electronic boxes are all well and good - but give me a physical analog switch for reliability every day of the week :-)

Happy to say things are way better round here now, but somewhere on the forum there is definitely a thread or 2 on the ins and out of water stuffers.

On the lem electric big bite:
        http://www.lemproducts.com/product/b...usage-stuffers
Long narrow cylinder - looks good, can't see any issues with that and stix.
Variable speed control also a good idea.
But a 15watt motor ? How much gearing does this have - would like to see inside that gear box.

Also cool that they include a manual handle, for when it breaks or you despeartely need to stuff before the hurricane hits and the power is out

        This looks pretty nice: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15L-Electri...AAAOSwYwJaFvID
        25 watt motor on a 15l (33lb) stuffer.
States all metal gearing which the lem doesn't actually say.
And currently dirt cheap - worth keeping an eye on.

Same unit with a $373 'buy it now' tag - I hate bidding on stuff on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15L-Electri...YAAOSwlptaD149

Doesn't look like it has the hurricane handle - but hey is that worth an extra $300 ?
Hell no, for that you can buy a decent 15lb manual stuffer as well and still have change :-)

Just looks that bit more heavy duty than the lem. Also the exit tube is larger and better placed to transfer pressure evenly to the tubes.

Even if it wasn't $300 cheaper I'd probably go for this one.
The lem control box has push buttons and digital readout - this one has a manual turn knob - that will last longer and be less potential hassle.
Plus 60% more power in the motor.

        Yup---I remember that, CA !!
He got hammered pretty good here.
He went by the name of "fpnmf".

He was an ACE on Water Stuffers.

Wish he made them of food safe materials. But that was not a priority.

I stumbled on this one that looks neat.

              http://www.superiorsausagestuffer.co...ghland-IL.html

I guess these would interest me a little more if I was into more lbs per batch.

My little bit of dabbling in the plastic scrap business, i personally would stick to food safe pipe.

Or I would have to break out one of my John Kirbys.......Similar to this one.

Our equipment holds up to 100 pounds of meat , which yields approximately 50 sausages

Looks nice, and I have a manual one of a similar design ( https://www.westonsupply.com/Realtre...73-0701-rt.htm). I usually have Mrs. Engineer crank it and I catch the snack sticks...if I don't have enough liquid in the mix it really gives her a workout.

The one thing that I see with the ebay one is that it is listed as 25 watts...since there are 746 watts per hp, that is 1/30th of a HP. That has to be a misprint? or else that little squirrel inside that motor is geared down like nobody's business. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Engineer can crank with more oomph than 1/30th of a HP, so I don't know if that would hold up from a reliability standpoint. Like I said, that has to be a misprint...if they left a zero off of the specification (say 250 watts) that would be 1/3 HP...geared down would make it a sausage stompin' sum bitch.

Otherwise it looks pretty good with everything included!.

From what I'm seeing on the stuffer aardvark recommend which is 15l compared to the 10l the 15 only has a tube that is 19mm. Doesn't snack sticks need to be smaller than that?

In the past I have used 21 mm casings which are a perfect snack stick size.

                                Just ordered their catalog.

The seasoning I use on my regular pork sausage here at home and the seasoning I went with for my brats last year was made by old plantation seasonings. People love my regular pork sausage and old plantation held true on the brat mixes too.

On the snack sticks do you guys prefer collagen casings? I've never done them so that may be a stupid question!
