  • It's October 31st, so...

Well today is Halloween and you know what that means...

    That's right, snow in Kansas!

Unfortunately, that makes today a bust for milo harvest or anything else really useful at the farm so what is a guy to do?

    Smoke some ribs, of course!

Here's some baby backs sprinkled with a little salt and a generous amount of the Mad Hunky GP rub.

Will put them on the smoker soon but a question arose. I want to save these for serving to some friends coming in next week. I thought I might cut them into thirds after cooking is done, vac pac, and freeze. Then, reheat in simmering water. Anyone done this with ribs? Advice and direction, please.

You can try this. What I refer to as the "HawgHeaven Rib Reheat Method".

You'll probably want to thaw them first though.

I use the hawg method too... work very nicely.. or just add water if you do not have juice....

Thanks for the responses, guys. Sounds like the hawg method works good.

Here's how they look about 2.25 hours in. Smoker temp was 225 when the ribs went on but slowly climbed to 275.

I cut them into thirds and put in pan with apple juice in the bottom.

Foiled and back into the cooker.

Thanks BW...That's what I like to see...

                  As for the reheat...
Like others said...but I use very little liquid and reheat it just like I cooked it...Around 250 and for at least 30 minutes...Works for me...
