you gotta feel sorry for...
he's either the 49ers or the dolphins quarterback. (can't remember what they said when they introduced him.)
and for this year's superbowl the poor bastard is stuck in a studio in london.
no superbowl food for him. he'll be up till 4 am, in a city I consider to be the absolute arse end of the universe :-)
He seems like a decent bloke too. wonder who he upset lol
well it's been on for five minutes now and I still haven't seen any cheerleaders. And the singing was a bit ropey too !

Sure the blonde was loud, but man she mssed a lot of notes ;-)
That was queen latifah ? she ought to hang her head in shame at that performance lol.
It's something we used to do for the world series was rate the singers on a scale of 1-10.
last nights were both solid 6's

I was not impressed with either as well. I really detest the "soul it up" routine on the Anthem or other patriotic type songs. They should be sung with respect and reverence to the original versions. Altho Underwood pretty much did this, she was just not that good. And yes... something DOES bother me about Hendrix Star Spangled Banner too. Sorry- just my opinion.

I don't mind any patriotic anthem being freshen up as long as it is done respectfully. Case in point, Jose Feliciano at Tiger Stadium for the 68 World Series.

I don't like the "my way" singing either, but it was God Bless America, not the anthem, maybe no difference but I was PC on that one. Not as well done as Celin Dion (spchk) cuz she sings it best.. IMHO.
As far as Carrie Underwood, I am still giving her props, yeah the last note she muffed up, but you all try to sing that song acapello LIVE. She really has a set of pipes, and albeit the last note, she rocked it.. again my .02
