              the trick to getting the batter to stick is to flour the pickle chips first.
              I always season my flour with a little salt and pepper and some garlic powder.

              I do these as an alternative to chips with fish for fish and chips (fries).

              I buy the jars of big gherkins (pickles) cut them into slices, flour them and just dip in egg and shallow fry with a little oil.
              Works really well, think there's a thread round somewhere. Or not lol.

              But yeah, if you haven't tried - definitely recommended.
              Never thought to use breadcrumbs and do them in the oven.
