All MODERN homes the kitchen and diningroom circuits MUST be 20A dedicated to outlets only. When I wired mine 16 years ago it was anyway..thinking prolly 1995 NEC version.

1700 watts SHOULD go..IF nothing else is on the circuit. (Like lighting...) But yeah..it’d make me nervous.

Mt house was built in 1954.... The only 20 amp circuits are ones I put in over the years for AC units (that I don't use anymore).

I didn't look at he power usage when I bought it. I'm kinda concerned that all that usage on one leg is going to make the meter spin!

Mark, go outside and watch your meter and see how fast it's moving. Now go inside and run the fryer. While the fryer is running go back out and watch the meter and see how much faster it's running. Might be interesting to see if it makes a big difference.

It’s a wattmeter. It won’t spin more on one leg than the other.

Wanna hack? Get behind your oven (electric?) and pick off one side and the neutral for a plug. Since you WON’T be running it AND the air fryer at one time..it’ll work
