After the death of the old outhouse I needed a new sausage smoker and decided to give a fridge smoker a try.found an old steel lined one off of craigs list and went to work on it.I bought a side box off of a chargriller offset smoker that I can run propane or charcoal from. I removed all the internal fridge stuff and removed the inside of the door and the outside frame of the ice box that was plastic and replaced with 18 gauge steel.put in a 4'' smoke stack and 3-1'' intake pipes lined the door with rope fireplace gasket and resized 6 of the grates from the outhouse. I fired it up just this weekend to test .Havent smoked anything yet but I think i'm going to like it .

Looks good,,, I love my fridge build,,, I just have a elec. burner in mine ran of a thermastat,, works great,, would like to put a small CPU fan in to circulate the air a little better.Desert Storm Vet - USS Midway CV41 - decom crew.

when I get more...Nice build and like the side box idea....Had several fridge smokers in my day and still long for another but don't really need. Old fridges are hard to find any more around here.
