  • Open Faced Smoked Chuck Sandwich

I decided to make some open-faced sandwiches out of the last of the leftover smoked chuck from the other day.

A few slices of Italian loaf slathered in garlic butter

Onion and minced garlic sauteing in butter

I added in the shredded chuck, some beef stock, a little flour, and let it simmer

While the gravy thickened slightly I toasted the bread in the oven

I piled the meat onto the toast

Then I placed a slice of Munster and a slice of Havarti cheese on top of the meat

Then they went back under the broiler to melt the cheese

Open-faced sandwich topped with some gravy and some Cracker Barrel mac & cheese topped with some French's fried onions

    Better view

    Thanks for lookin'
    Jim

I like the flavor and the little crunch it adds.
I would like to find some of the French's Fried Jalapeño pieces. I'm bettin' they would really be good on the mac & cheese.
