  • Basic Rub - Crusty Ol Salt style

This is a basic rub i use on both pork and beef products

It does have a considerable amount of brown sugar in it, but I like it like that

    Crusty Ol Salt Rub
    1 cup brown sugar
    2/3 cup kosher salt
    2/3 cup sweet paprika
    2/3 cup course black pepper
    2 tbsp garlic powder
    2 tbsp onion powder
    2 tbsp cayenne pepper
    2 tbsp allspice

Just remember where ya'll got it from and give credit where credit is due

i love this recipe, however I'm wondering: would you use this on a brisket? Even with one cup of brown sugar in it?

Yes I do. That said it depends on the mood. I also have good luck with a basic kosher salt and black pepper rub.

I think the sweet balances well with hickory smoke and salt and pepper goes a long with oak.

                  Thx a Million for asking

                  Good luck
