  • Bang Bang Shrimp Po' Boy

Wanted a good Po' Boy so I did a Bang Bang Shrimp version. Coated shrimp with salt pepper garlic powder black pepper egg wash and corn starch. Too hot to cook inside so I cook over the coals outside with the cast iron. Fried the shrimp up then put in the baby bang sauce. Grilled up the French bread and then built the sandwich. Lettuce, tomato, shrimp coated in the bang bang sauce. These were very good!!!!

    Bang Bang Sauce:
    1/2 cup mayo, I recommend Hellman’s
1/4 cup Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
    1 teaspoon Hot Whang
    1 teaspoon peanut butter
    1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
    1/2 teaspoon hosin sauce

I think I might be the only one in America to say this... I do not like Sriracha... I used cholula hot sauce as the hot sauce.. to put that much Sriracha would be off i think....

Sriracha is just one in my stable of many, all have their place except that dreaded 4 billion heat factor no flavor come on ice scream stuff......

Used to get the best shrimp poboys at hole in the wall place in New Orleans on the way to Venice. Piled on fried popcorn skrimps on Leidenheimer french bread dressed and wash it down with a quart of budwieser. Could have made 2 poboys with all the skrimps they stuffed it with, dam I miss them days.

We're not big Sriracha fans either. We also like to use cholula.
