      yes, be very interested to hear how this worked out. if it works and wouldnt leak sideways could get one a those treadmill things and have it set up so it could turn and tumble as well for making a huge batch of jerky...

        sorry I haven't updated,it work really well even though I had the bail so full that when I pulled the vacuum on the pail it sucked the lid down enough that it partially pushed the food saver part up and a little side ways this put strain on the silicone caulk and the caulk actually pulled free half way around on the food saver part. This being said when I pushed the relief valve there was still a vacuum.
        I need to find a better way of securing the to piece together.

          Use this stuff...

          And make a food safe "stanchion" to support the lid...a column inside the bucket...

            Oh...and clean the area to be glued well..use scotchbrite pad to "rough it up" a little...

              you know I looked at that the first time,but was concerned about it not being food grade.I guess if I just use it on the top side there should be no problem
