+1 on Peter Luger in New York and Gibson's in Chicago. I just LOVE Luger's steak sauce/salad dressing. To die for! I lived around the corner from Gibson's for a year (in the 14th floor apartment where my once-used Smokey Joe blew up and over the railing). Gibson's cured me of martinis. I once had my usual 3 along with a stogie at the bar. I got half way through the 3rd one...and lost the feeling in my legs. The bartender was very apologetic. "Mr. Maar, I'm so sorry that I forgot to tell you that we just switched from 6 oz to 10 oz martinis." Man, did I pay for that all night. No more Bombay Sapphire for me. TOO smooth.

The best we have in our area is a Ruth's Chris, if I ever get to NY I'm gonna try Peter Lugers cause I've heard so much about it.
