    So....anybody try this with Crimini, oyster, hen of the woods, etc. any reason not to????

      I have not generally due to pure cost... those are quite expensive around here.. I can get these big buttons mushrooms for around $1 per pound on sale.... but I am sure they would be good!!!

        Have wanted to try this recipe the day I seen it. I would probably end up eating all of these at once outta a big bowl and stab anyone who attempted to snag one......

        Its funny that snarlingiron mentions hen of the woods shrooms as I was thinking the exact same thing. Have an abundance of them around here. I only hope to remember that come next fall when they are out....Someone please remind me

            well, I'm finally giving this a go. Serving it up with some venison backstop from this years deer and some mashed taters. About 30 minutes into the shrooms, the house smells great.....

                  OH my GAWD........These are so F'n good. Well worth the wait. Did half a recipe, wish I went with the full 4 pounds. I honestly think I could live on these and Hamms beer and nothing else....maybe some slim Jims too.

                  Was going to have some venison tonight, but the wife surprised me with a big ole pile of crab legs so the backstrap will have to wait till tomorrow.
