  • Vertical smoker question

I would like to know what are the benefits of a vertical smoker with the smoke vent run closer to the bottom of the cook chamber instead of just putting it at the top ?

There would be no advantage, unless you were trying to run reverse flow. At least not that I can think of.

If your talking a back woods design , it's reverse flow, the smoke/heat comes in at the top and out the bottom. I honestly don't notice any difference between my backwoods and my wsm. Both are great cookers.
