  • 3/8" stuffing tube solution!

    Guys

I have a Grizzly 5lb vertical stuffer. The smallest tube is 5/8"

I cannot find anything smaller, except for some expensive ones.

I just got a #5 LEM SS grinder and it has a 3/8" tube, but I will never use it

Or I thought I would not

I ended up cutting the flare end down so it would fit the Griz.

Its not a tight fit, but once you start pushing meat through it it tightens right up and works fine! No leaks!!

Just be careful when you cut it and dont cut too much off of it

I would think any plastic 3/8" grinder tube would work for this

If the looseness becomes an issue, you could coat the inside on the ring with veggie oil and use something like "Goop" around the shoulder of the tube... drop the tube thru the ring and let the stuff set up. Boom... gasket :{)

good thought but not necessary at this point. Works perfect no leakage at all.

Actually I was surprised how good it worked.

        ;)

I did, with jalapeno cheese just for you!

Actually what happens as the meat gets forced out of the stuffer, it wedges the funnel tight against the ring..and no leaks

I have some of your hot whangs in the smoker now bud. Gonna give them a try

Heres something you might wanna try. I did this with the 3/8" tube that came with our Kitchenaid mixer. I cut the flared end down like you did on yours little by little until it was a snug fit. Still, the hard plastic allowed a small amount of meat to escape. So, I took the stuffing tube off, and ran the flared end across our gas stove burner to soften it. Once soft, I quickly assembled the stuffing tube and nut onto my 15# stuffer and snugged it up. The soft plastic formed/compressed perfectly and no leaks. I had a really NICE stainless 3/8" stuffing tube just for this but haven't seen it in over a year
