  • Inaugural cook in the discada!

    Green curry chicken. No better way to put this disc to the test.

    Made my standard green curry paste.

    * 1/2 to 1 green chili, sliced

    * 1/4 cup shallot OR purple onion, diced

    * 3-4 cloves garlic, minced

    * 1 thumb-size ginger, grated

    * 1 stalk minced lemongrass , minced

    * 1/2 tsp. ground coriander

    * 1/2 tsp. ground cumin

    * 3/4 to 1 tsp. shrimp paste OR 1 extra Tbsp fish sauce (I used anchovy paste)

    * 1 (loose) cup fresh coriander/cilantro leaves and stems, chopped

    * 1/2 tsp. ground white pepper, available in most spice sections

    * 2.5 Tbsp. fish sauce

    * 1 tsp. brown sugar

    * 1 Tbsp. lime juice

    * 1/4 can coconut milk

    Cut up three mega chicken breasts. Pile of veggies.

    The gribeness from the chicken.makes for a great snack for the chef, or a crispy topping for the curry. Of course you all know it didn't make it to the kitchen!

    Enjoy!!!!

      Thank you! I've wanted one for quite sometime. I've had the disc for over a year now and finally got the burner up and running. Can't believe it took me that long!

      Fajitas, are on top of the list !

                    Looks great, what did you use to fill the hole? I have heard that some folks are developing cracks from the dissimilar wire.

                    I was unable to find a disc made in the USA so I ended up with one made in Australia. It is still far down the project list.

                    Nice build. and good lookin food,

                      A friend did the weld and I believe he used rod. I didn't want to trust my crappy flux core welder. The patch is 1/2" steel plate. This sucker is thick in the bottom!
