Damn I can't believe I mist this. I have been looking for a "beans from the raw" recipe I thought looked good..without 13 Lbs of brown sugar I should say. Thanks Don!

(I'll cut the sugar a bit...)

This one is a keeper definitely, and I use it every time I make em. Just be sure to boil your beans long enough after the soak.... I love the veggies in it, as do most people that have had them. The molasses makes up for brown sugar. I also prefer a not too sugary bean. I have found 1/2 C suits me, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to cut it down to 1/4 C.

The recipe does sound interesting. I'll copy it for future reference...Thanks. My wife, since she was a kid made Baked Bean sandwiches with miracle whip. Either toasted bread or not. I tried it along time ago, and ya know what ? it really is pretty good....

Sounds similar to shit on a shingle subbing the corned beef gravy for beans. I'd try it!

The only thing I can think of to make them beans any better, is to have The beautiful young lady in BBQ Engineers signature to serve them.

This looks killer man. I typically don't care for baked beans (store bought) but I am going to make these tomorrow to go with some pulled pork.
I rub it every chance I get!

That batch there fed about 12-14 people. I'd say a bag of beans per 12-14 people works out well, especially when you have other side dishes.

For 90, I bet you could get by with 6-7 bags of beans.
