You might want to check your ground, Cheryl!

Seriously, your grinder looks alot like one I bought on ebay, after my sausage making was done for the year. When I finally got to use it a year later it blew a seal that was supposed to keep the machine oil away from the meat. Too late for warranty repair.

Bought the Northern Tool one, and it's been going strong for five years now!

I don't want to have to wear ear plugs.... I need to hear SWMBO at all times.

Good luck, looks like you are serious about this. Looks like a nice piece of equipment.

Agree on the exercise in futility

that is weird: '1 hp motor but only grinds 2lb a minute. Something odd there.'

Man that one you got is seriously cheap squirrel. Costco over here don't sell anything like that.

I'm looking at this one from northern tool at the moment.

This is the bit I like:
                Capacity: 100kg/hour.
                Motor: 230V, 1HP/750W.
                Max. Recommended Run Time: 4hrs
Looking at it as starter machine for when i can go commercial. There's no way in hell I'll be coming close to those numbers for quite a while.

Motor blocks up to 1 hp, with 0.2 hp output
So basically 0.2 hp or around 250 watts.

Well... it SAYS 250 watts... but 1Hp = 746W. 250W SHOULD be .34 Hp. But they say.2 Hp... which is 148W.

You really cannot trust many manu's specs... they reate things on peak this and that... and it's just not true. Heck..their numbers are not even close.
