    I'd drop the 'faux'.

    They look like burnt ends to me

          Just tried a batch myself. The store had prime chuck roasts on sale for $4.99/lb.

                    Excellent cooks, guys. I've been using chuck roasts for burnt ends for a couple of years, good stuff IMHO
