I wish I was buying some beef south. I went to the butcher today and asked for a 3 rib Prime Rib Roast. He told me I would probably change my mind at +/- 80 bucks. I thanked him and left. I then looked at the rib steaks: 39.99 per KG or 18.10 per pound and that was on special. Might be time to put a 48 hour soak on some Chucks!Weber 22.5

Sorry you didn't like them, Bear. I do like the chuck eye steaks but I look through them and find the smallest / thinnest ones on the shelf. I have not had any problems with gristle or toughness. They make a nice steak for breakfast.Becky

They kinda remind me of some Thin steaks we used to get around here pretty cheap, back in the 70s. They called them "Picnic Steaks". They were good for Breakfast, and often used in a Steak Hoagie roll, instead of Chip Steak.

when they got plated look even gooder.
my younger brother has been buying them for years for his grill and has always told me "brother you have to try these they are great and cheap" when the prices started creeping up on them he was fit to be tied.sigpicWal-Mart shopping cart undergoing heavy mods.

I think I've become a Ribeye Snob.
The only Perfect Steak is a Ribeye, with just the right amount of marbling.
Tenderloin is Great, but I prefer Ribeye (and I can always get it for less than half as much as Tenderloin).
I don't care for NY Strip, and only the small side (Tenderloin) of a T-bone or Porterhouse is good.
See what I mean----Ribeye Snob!!!
