  • New to site, but have a few smokes under my belt

    Hey everyone!!!

    Just dropping by to say hello!!! I was invited to jump into the mix by another member from another site with whom shared many of the same interest as myself, S2K9K. We've spent quite a bit of time together in the past few years, testing methods and recipes...been a fun ride, and I was eager to accept his invitation to jump on board with everyone here.

    I've been taking smoking meats rather seriously for the past 5 years or so, but having fun with it, and I've had some time to rethink some of things I thought I knew back in the days when I first started smoking in 2001.

    Looking forward to learning about what everyone's doing for their smoke-fix here, as well as sharing some of my own creations and methods in the future.

    Great smokes to all!!! Hope to visit with you all very soon!!!

                  Thank you!!!

                  I've had several smokers...
                  -GOSM 3405-GW vertical cabinet propane, converted to charcoal, currently not in use (my 1st smoker - 2001);
                  -Brinkmann Smoke n Pit 40" charcoal, converted to propane with turkey fryer burner, added full-length tuning plate, no longer in use except for grilling w/charcoal/lump (my 2nd smoker - 2009);
                  -Brinkmann Gourmet charcoal, modified with elevated grate, elevated water pan, under-grate smoke generator box with vent stack beside coal grate (for pellet smokers), lid seal and vented lid top, extra barrel and 2 grates for stacked smoker with double capacity, have also used with LPG conversion (my 4th smoker - 2010;
                  -Smoke Vault 24 LPG with intake vent mod (my 3rd smoker - 2010);

                  Smoked a 12lb whole packer brisket (small one for me...I like the 17-18lbrs) for family gathering yesterday...pulled it...all of it...nice change of pace. Just vegging-out today before the work week starts again.

                  I was just about to post a couple pics, but I have them stored only on my hard-drive...no photo host site to link a URL...drat!!!
