  • Breasts -- Chicken that is!

Rec'd my package of Mad Hunky rub and decided I will do a comparison tomorrow morning. All are in the fridge for a night-time rest. Will post results and pics tomorrow. BTW, the MH rub ROCKS.

One breast rubbed with EVOO and MH>>6.6 oz breast

One breast rubbed with EVOO and Head Country>>5.3 oz breast

One breast rubbed with EVOO and Plowboys>>8.6 oz breast

My bad. thought you were referring to the chicken. I guess I probably should have measured out the rub to make it more uniform, but I'm just going after the difference between the three rubs. I like the Plowboys, my wife likes the Head Country. So I'm anxious to see how the MH tastes. Finger test was awesome so I am expecting it to be even better when cooked on a piece of meat.

IMO, Mad Hunky had a better taste than the Plowboys and Head Country. My wife perferred the Head Country, which she ate before i could snap a picture. The MH had a bit more heat, which I like and the Ployboys was a bit more sweet. The HC is a bit salty and has a decent taste. Plowboys was a close second.

                This one is the Plowboys

After I applied the rub, wrapped and placed in the fridge for a rest, they basically all looked alike. Had I not labeled each piece, I probably would not know which one was which. The HC has parsley that is distinguisable. The HC people must be doing something right as they have won a ton of comps and championships. Don't get me wrong. I do like it, but I prefer a mix of heat and sweet. HC has something in it that I can't put my finger on.

I am planning on smoking a chuckie this weekend along with some bacon wrapped corn on the cobb and I think I will add some brown sugar to the MH and try that.

Anyway, Rich puts out a great product and I look forward to using it on different types of meat. I am really looking forward to trying it on some chargrilled oysters. I think the heat profile of the MH will be great on the oysters.
