    Thanks for the link dave. As a college graduate that had no money, I can tell you, some food can last much longer than they say. Especially Pizza. LOL. Seriously, thanks for the link.

          pinch of salt.

          take any official figures with a pinch of salt.

          They'll tag a best before date on everything - sometimes just to get you to think it's expired and buy more.

          The absolute kicker:
          The cure salt I've just bought supposedly has a shelf life of 6 months - at least that's what the use by date reckons.
          I mean this is salt with nitrate and nitrite. It won't ever go off. lol It can't.
          And as far as I know unless it's heated or mixed with food the nitrite and nitrate won't deteriorate.
          Mad, quite mad.
