Take a look at your local Craigslist as they come up all the time. The "normal" retail on the Performer is $329.00. You can do much better on a pre owned unit.

Keep an eye on the big box hardware stores, grilling season is in full swing and you might find some specials in the coming weeks.

Check out the Char Griller Duo. It's great as a gas grill, charcoal grill and smoker (side fire box extra).

Weber Performer + Smoke EZ attachment = One helluva smoker and grill combo. I found the Performer on CL for around $100, and the Smoke EZ was $150 shipped to my door. Love it!

That looks like a good set-up. You can almost triple the capacity. What are you using for thermometer?

I will speak for Phil on this one cause he lets me sometimes Phil's got one of them super slow Orange Thermapens..... Slanted 88 on the other hand uses the RNTP (redneck Thermapen), but he's 1/2 to 3/4 crazy, so it works out for him. I will bump the thread so you can understand the RNTP thingy

And Fishbreath is crazier than Slanted 88. But only when he's awake.

Sir Scott of the Misinformed... as you well know, there is scientific proof that the ORANGE Thermapen is so fast, it acheives supersonic speeds, even when properly abused under unforseen circumcisions.

Butt, I did add a Tel-Tru temp guage to the Smoke EZ... just below top grate.

Might have to buy a new performa.
