I just got the news a couple days ago that one of my very good friends that was along on my last dippin trip died last Sunday. he lost the battle with the Big "C". He was a Mexican guy named Rudy and I spent 15 years working with him in the General Motors shop we retired from. he got us drinking tequila slammers while playing pool in a bar while waiting for the smelt to start running. I'm going to miss him. He was a very kind hearted friend. That smelt dipping trip will be tops in my memories of him. Sure was a fun time.

I love me some smelt... LOVE IT!! As Shell said, up this way, it is a Christmas time thing. Butt, I'd gladly eat them daily!!

That is where my did used to take me, the Lester River. We actually did come back with buckets of fish though lol. Man those were some fond memories.
