Jealousy is creeping in all over this post!! What a fantastic start!! This might sound like a dumb question, can the fire bricks withstand cold temperatures too? We get down to zero sometimes and I would hate to invest in something like that to have it crack in the winter.

This is so cool, watching this thing built from scratch. I cannot wait to see it finished and in action. Very impressive Sir.Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

Very nice, Scar Looks great so far.
I'll be watchin' this with keen interest. We've got a 12'x12' bare slab back in one corner of our yard that's screamin' to have sumthin' built on it. Bad part is, I don't have a mason for a neighbor . Be curious to know how thick the slab is that you're building on.Rudy
