      Looking GREAT, Scar!!!

We can hear the grinding noise all the way to Pennsy!!!

Mrs Bear said, "What is that Noise?!?!"

I told her, "That's Gary Chomping at the bit!!!"

Jealousy is creeping in all over this post!! What a fantastic start!! This might sound like a dumb question, can the fire bricks withstand cold temperatures too? We get down to zero sometimes and I would hate to invest in something like that to have it crack in the winter.

I don't know the construction details for harsh weather but there are lots of folks in the East that have them. One of the bigger distributors is in Rutherford NJ.

This is so cool, watching this thing built from scratch. I cannot wait to see it finished and in action. Very impressive Sir.

Very nice, Scar Looks great so far.
I'll be watchin' this with keen interest. We've got a 12'x12' bare slab back in one corner of our yard that's screamin' to have sumthin' built on it. Bad part is, I don't have a mason for a neighbor . Be curious to know how thick the slab is that you're building on.

The slab was the foundation for extra large spa we had there that weighed 8000# -it is 4.5" with #6 rebar on 12" centers with 6" of sand under it. We estimate the oven to weigh about 5500#
