Well we are finally at the end of the building saga. The decorative medallions are installed and the color coat is on. Now I need to wait for 2 days to start using it so the stucco does not dry out too fast and crack. I am also waiting for Mrs Scar to decide on the flue cap and for the paint to dry on the masonite board I am installing on the bottom of the wood storage to keep from damaging the stucco

Thanks for taking this journey with me - now I can finally get started cooking in this bad boy

Absolutely beautiful Scar! You have every reason and right to be beaming with pride...I know I would be. Looking forward to the first of many delectable designs that emerge from that black iron door!!! Thanks for sharing it all with us...if there were ever a poll for 'Build of the Year', this one would certainly be nominated!!! Awesome!

                          • Man that's sweet lookin. I'm super jealous. I'd love to have something like that, but the weather around here just isn't that conductive to outdoor cooking most of the year. There's about a month or two in the summer that I'd use the chit out of that, but the rest of the year it'd just sit there soaking in the rain.

Very awesome! Can't wait to see the outcome of your first cook on it!

I don't suppose I could set up a tent in your backyard?
                              Nice setup!

Will the vent stack stay raw metal or as alluded to, will you in some way cover it to make it blend in with the rest?

Not to mention the occasional campfire
