That was a good ol boat and we had her tipped way more than that on occasion

That fish dressed out 570lbs and fetched $4800 at auction to a nice Japanese guy.

We more or less did it to pay for our fuel, maintenance and dock slip. We were the poor guys in the fleet. When we first started out we used handlines. 4+ hour fight tugging on a rope while getting pulled around like a bobber...LOL. When we could finally afford the rod and reels we could get them up in less than an hour.

Now I gotta go fight off the urge to buy another boat ...

Funny....we do stick'em with a harpoon as soon as they're close, kinda seals the deal on them getting away

I don't blame ya, once they are hooked up, they become an investment in my book. I would harpon them too if it meant being sure to get my 3-5 K for something that big!

I hate that there is really not a ton of good fishing in my area unless you want to spend $30k/year on boat costs.

MA, on the NE corner of RI. I can walk to RI from my house. It's weird but there is very little boating access to the ocean in my area and all of the large fresh water bodies are off limits. To do any regular fishing here other than shoreline cast into weed infested waters you'd have to spend a LOT on mooring/winter storage for a boat.

Rent a boat for the day and ask me about my special "lures" LOL!

PS make SURE the boat has a solid hull....

The mind numbing part is that my drive to work is almost entirely circumnavigating a huge fresh water lake. It would be a GREAT place to drop some lines but I'd be arrested for even going near the edge if you believe the signs.

Got some fine fishing here. This is the Destin pass from the air. Gulf of Mexico & Chcotawhatchee Bay.

This one should have been mine! It was my turn on the rod, but I was running the boat.........Caught by my buddy Drew, 21+ pound HATCHERY COHO caught in 09/08 in La Push, Washington. Should have won the derby, but HE gutted it!....Knucklehead....we got 2nd by 2 oz.

Still won $500 but should have been $1,000.....Scan did not come through very good, but it was a VERY NICE Coho...
