    Anyone out there ever tried smoking northern pike?? I've got about 20# of fillets and don't want to pickle all of them. If you have, I would appreciate the brine recipe and smoking time and temp.

      My dad smokes them quite frequently but he doesn't do anything special. I hate picking through all the bones.

        save the tails for general eating, they are boneless. pickle only how much you want but make sure its the part with the y bones in it. they will dissolve in the process. ck out the other thread for some tips from others.
