Slices appear spot on. Always take note of what you did on a good cook so you can repeat it. Once in a while you just get a shitty muscle from a bad cow but don't change your technique once you have it. Briskets can be challenge but given successful repetition they are actually quite easy. They're just big and take longer than most folks are prepared for.

With respect to resting, I pretty much rest throughout the cook so it's only fair to let the food have it's share!!
