  • Mead pairing

Some good friends surprised me today with several bottles of mead. Aside from just chilling and enjoying, any suggestions on what food might pair well with the different flavors?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1478499156.534170.jpg
    Thanks in advance

I don't think I've ever seen mead, much less tasted it. Let us know how you like it!
My first thought would be venison or elk.

Hmmm... it’s typically VERY sweet... I would say a dessert/fruit plate. I like it alone..like you mentioned

weird, mead is usually just mead flavoured.
          basically a honey based wine.

These days you can get some in the uk that's not overly sweet. But never heard of flavoured mead before - interested to see what you think

I would drink that with something in between Hot Dogs and Prime Rib.

Either way I'm sure it will taste Great !

Honey based wine... not my favorite as it tends to be too sweet for me. I'd lean toward desserts.....

I've always heard that it goes well with game meats or with grilled spicy meats & veggies. Just remember, it is an absolute requirement that it be served in a flagon...
