  • MudBugs....

So, last Saturday night, I went out with my two brothers for some crawdads. We've been doing this for over 20 years. We each ate 4#'s as it's a great time in the season. That said, I got 3#'s to go.

The hitch is, my youngest son also loves the bugs. So, I got the take home for yesterday evening. These are done in a"hot" butter garlic sauce. If I ever get the chair, this is my last meal.

So, recooking already cooked bugs is easy. Made a make-shift double boiler. That way, all the good juices are saved and the heads/tails don't dry out. I love both parts of them:

After about 45 mins and some stirring, they were ready. This is what was left in the bowl after the first trip for my son and I:

And, a look at the table bowl after I realized I should take a pic half way through:

I just love this and it's a very easy and efficient way to eat them the next day with carry out.

Thanks for looking and glad the season has arrived!!!!

Oh Yeah. I love Crawfish. Dont get them much here in the desert, but when I can find them at restaurants they are mighty tasty. About all we can find in the wild here is Canal Crabs.

My wife always takes an extra order home with her. We've found that a few minutes in the microwave will heat them up perfectly, still juicy. Put them on a small tray or use the microwave's turntable works just fine
