Well I think I'll stick to my home grown jalapenos when possible. I grow habs and other hot peppers. But these things blew us all away, for a jalapeno.

It's a great recipe. Thanks for sharing.

I usually can it in 1/2 pint jars, and let it sit for a bit.

Missed this first time around. Is this on the sweet side with the sugar in it? I'm not a fan of sweet relish but don't mind a little sweet heat.

I don't think it's as sweet as the relish from the grocery, but it is a sweet type of relish. You could always start with a lesser amount of sugar and try it. With the white vinegar it'll be pretty tart without any. Maybe cider vinegar instead? Bet you could come up with something to your liking.

This sounds great Gunslinger. This relish will be great on my Habanero Brats. When I do a batch of those brats, the habs get ran through the grinder seeds and all.

After reading about this relish here I just have to try it. Fresh jalapenos are a bit hard to come by in those quantities here. But I found a place who's willing to try to order them.

Now here's the question: the store is asking if I want red or green jalapenos.

Which kind is best / recommended for this recipe?

                          Thanks :-)

                          Have a great weekend :-)

Just made my first batch Wednesday. I agree about the red ones. I used half red Fresno peppers and it does look good. Also agree on the sugar even though I have a big sweet tooth. I'll be cutting back a bit on the next bunch. Great stuff though,
