  • How it was made...

I marvel at the talent some people have when it comes to fabricating. I was lucky enough that the fabricator I bought my rig from took some pics of the build. It started life as a 125 gallon tank. He says he bought a guy 2 beers in a bar and they guy told him to pick it up.

    The warmer gets added...

Notice the two sliding dampers in the bottom. Gives you complete heat control. I have used it as a heat dump if I get things a little to hot in the main. Lots of hours in fab time just on the warmer.

Main chamber doors starting to take shape.

    Fire box is mounted.

    Getting blasted..

Trailer mounted and ready for paint...I really like the way he shrouded the tailights. You can use them as a step and if you back into something no busted lights! Lots of little things went into this build.

    A few finishing touches...

And it all came together. I am truly amazed at the talent some people have, probably because I'm so lacking of it!
I am still finding things about this rig I didn't notice before.

            beautiful looking smoker.

Makes you wonder why he even bothered with the propane tank though
End caps are about the only thing left.

So, you cooked anything in it yet ?

Thanks all! The kudos go to the builder of this rig. I just happened to sell a classic car about a month before I ran across this thing. I paid off a few bills and still had the money left to buy this thing so I got very lucky.

I have cooked alot in it since getting it. Have done several contract cooks and fund raisers. And alot of general purpose what the hell cooks!

It's conventional flow tuning plate design and runs beautifully. I never ran a pit with a warmer before so it was a little bit of a learning curve there but the thing is dampered so well it didn't take long to get the groove on with it.

CA, funny you mentioned about the propane tank. When I first started looking for a trailer rig I was dead set against a propane tank build. I wanted new cold rolled steel tube with end caps. I wanted something that looked purpose built and not a conversion of some rusty old tank.

When I seen this one it changed my mind. Too many features that just aren't found on other builds and the design of it dosen't scream I'm a propane tank you're eating off of!! :lol
I will say that if anyone is looking for a trailer rig let me know and I can put you in contact with this fabricator and he will build anything you want any way you want and you won't have to worry about buyers regret! Guarnteed!

I am like you. I have zero knowledge or talent when it comes to fabricating stuff like that. I am jealous!
