  • Kiwi-Strawberry Cream Dessert

This a cool and refreshing dessert on these hot summer days

I just made one of these for Pam.

    Kiwi-Strawberry Cream Dessert

1 (14-ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
    1 1/2 cups cold water
1 3 1/2 oz package instant vanilla flavor pudding mix
2 cups (1 pint) whipping cream, whipped
1 small chocolate pan cake, cut into cubes (about 6 cups)
    3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
    2 cup sliced fresh Kiwi
Additional fresh strawberries and Kiwi for garnish
    Toasted slivered almonds for garnish

    1. In large mixing bowl, combine EAGLE BRAND® and water; mix well. Add pudding mix; beat until well blended. Chill 5 minutes.

    2. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon 2 cups pudding mixture into 4-quart round glass serving bowl; top with half the cake cubes, half the strawberries, half the preserves and half the remaining pudding mix.

    3. Repeat layering, ending with pudding mixture. Garnish with additional strawberries and almonds. Chill 4 hours or until set. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.

    Tips
You can use any type or flavor cake you like. We have used yellow cake, white cake, and pound cake to make this.

Other fruits work well with this. I like making it with peach and apricots

My favorite is a real moist yellow cake with peachs and apricots.
Pam's favorite is chocolate cake. So chocolate it was. Yes dear.

ooo. that looks yummy! My wife makes an angel food cake that's simplicity itself (a box of angel food cake mix and a can of crush pineapple mixed together and baked) and I bet it would be great in this! Going to have to get her to try it this weekend.
