  • Poor man's Blackstone

I'm seasoning this guy who just got here from Amazon. It's a Lodge carbon steel griddle 18 by 10.
The plan is to use it for a while and see if a griddle outside is something I'd really use, and maybe go to a Blackstone down the road if I decide it's worth it. Okay, let's be honest, if I try to convince mama it's worth it.
    Anyone have one?

I knew they made a cast iron one but not a carbon steel one. I'm intrigued.

I'll be honest, I thought it was cast when I ordered it, and was Surprised it was carbon, but I'm okay with it. It's pretty heavy guage and a lot smoother than a Lodge pan. I'm looking forward to getting it going.

Yeah you'll be fine with the CS pan...
I get by with my CI on the charcoal grill...For now
Hell I think I like burning coals better than I would a gas fire anyway

Since I got an Akorn, the gasser has been pretty lonely. This will give it some love.

Looks like that will get the job done just fine. I kicked the big gasser to the curb and Mrs Bee can't be bothered with lighting coals. Otherwise, I would have done one of these or two in a flash.

Nice! if I'd had a gas grill I'd probably gone that same route. Works out to be pretty much the same thing as the blackstone. Enjoy the griddlin!

Finally got a chance to test drive it this morning. First I'm really impressed with the non stick so far and I know it will only get better. There's plenty of room, but it's not the half acre a Blackstone would give.
All in all, it did really well and I'm perfectly happy with the purchase.
