  • Latest watt burner build...

Here are a couple early 50's re-purposed ridges. The smaller one is a Hotpoint and the larger is GM Frigidare made by General Motors for you GM fanatics. It would look nice in your man cave. The smaller one is finished and the big one is waiting on the inside trim. Both 1500 watt and PID controlled. Exhaust is 2 1/2" pipe out the back where lightbulb was, into a 3" square stack.

Smoke via pellet tray inside tube piped into bottom of element pan.

PID control box is all un-plugable to keep in out of weather.

    Don..

Have to throw some point out for some cool ideas.

I like the exhaust to replace the light bulb, that is probably the best place for it.

Nice paint job, please tell more.

Nice smoke generator. Is the bottom open for air flow?

Where are you getting your thermo couple and plug. I am upgrading mine and want a more plug and play so I can use the same PID for my sous vied.

Beautiful craftsmanship. Love the fire photos on the bottom equipment cover the smoke box and entrance, the element well, and the detachable PID control box.

Just really nice all the way around.

You can get a lot of that stuff at Auberins but if you're working strictly on the cheap most of it can be found on ebay with a little searching.

I've got a PID that is similar that I use on my watt burner and my bullet casting pot and I got it all from Auberins.

Paint is Rustoleum Hammered finish in Bronze. Smoke gen tube has about 6, 1/2" holes drilled in the bottom for air flo to feed pellets. I think I got all the plugs and recpticles from Auberins.com. Actual thermocouples from ebay but
auberins.com has them also. Hope that helps.
