I brew on a much smaller scale the cheap and easy way 5 gal at a time. I admire these systems but I'm more hands on and basic. That's why I cook on a kettle and WSM with no computer/blower. Just vents and lump.

I'll be watching. Go for it!

Moving along slowly I've continued on with my controller. Painted the cabinet, assembled all the lights, switches, timer and PIDs, continuing with the installation of electrical components. Moving very slowly it seems. Too much of the life crap in the way...

I dont really care for the white meters but that can be remedied...

I finally got a little wiring done on my controller. Holy cow was this complex. Well, for someone who has no electrician skills anyway. Waiting for one more component to arrive and I can finish this up.

I've gotten a couple of kettles to modify as well. I'll get started on those next. As you can see I'm in no rush...

          Nice progress! Very clean work.

FWIW I like the white meters. They draw my eye to them.

Well going on two long years and I'm almost ready for 10 gal batches. Seems like this is taking forever. I have a 15 gal mash tun and boiler, big enough for my needs at the moment and plenty of room for growth. My Herms is a nice 20 gal with a 60 ft. coil. Plenty there to handle future needs. I'll fab a hood and install a fan soon. I've only a 7 gal conical fermenter at the moment but also have my eye on a larger 15 gal. conical. Last on the list are my kegs. I haven't considered whether to go with the ball locks cornys or build a wash station and go with the ease of Sanke kegs. I can get 1/2 barrel sankes for $30. In any event, almost there.

I have the occasional beer but usually not too many. I do like beer and a well made bourbon. At home I'll have a few. I usually don't drink when Im out as I don't like to drink when I have a drive ahead of me.

I highly recommend the sanke, I tried the ball lock, the were ok but when I switched to all sanke kegs life got a lot easier. I brew, ferment, condition and serve in them.

                    same here.
People think I'm teetotal - hell I don't actually drink tea lol

I like the odd liquer, occasional beer when I'm bbqing, the odd cider.
But I don't actually drink enough to register on the units scale we use in the uk.
Some weeks, maybe nothing at all, others maybe a half dozen bottles of something.

The damson gin I made last year didn't last long :-)
Going to seriously upscale production of that this year - long as my mate's tree has a decent crop of damsons.

Forgot to update. I got started on my brewing. eHERMs system rocks! Control panel works perfectly. It runs my 15 and 60 gal. mash tun & boilers with no effort. 41,000 BTU and 40 gallon is hot and ready in 40 minutes. The smaller 15 gal puts out 10 gal batches weekly. Plenty to stock the beer fridge. Brewed Bells Two Hearted Ale this week, a pumpkin ale week before and a hoegarrden clone the week before that. Life is good

Nice! Sounds like some tasty brews! I like the Hoegarreen pretty well, your clone is probably better though

Are you selling your beer? Brewing that size of batches you are going to end up with stale beer. Don't ask me how I know. [emoji41]
