Oh I already know that. I think my mom is a prime example. She buys the cheap stuff to save a buck. NO MATTER what the product. She doesn't self educate herself and usually ends up with complete junk. She is starting to ask me about a lot of purchases now because she knows I will research it. She comes to my house and asks how much things cost and shits a brick. Personally I prefer quality over price as much as I can afford it, and thats rarely China made.

Like this scale http://www.edlundco.com/pdf/Poseidon...eet_041508.pdf If I had the money source I would like something similar to this. Takes abuse, self sustained, highly accurate, multi-functional. Doubt it's American made though

But I bet you don't have to replace those items very often which makes them less expensive in the long run.

This is the one my step son got me for my birthday earlier in the month. It has the removable readout and zero's itself just by pressing one button.

Yep. Last longer, work better, has more features, blah blah blah Like I said, I am teaching her She has the same kitchen knives shehad when I lived with her and they were crap then. I bring my own board and knife when I know I will be helping her in the kitchen. She laughs but she LOVES my knife.

Found this scale while snoopin' around. Made in Germany, with a 5 yr. warranty. I'll get this one if the Penn Scale PS10 doesn't pan out. This site also has a Made in America section

Not so fast there, boys & girls. A quick call to the company and the very nice customer service person guided me through their website. Here's the link to what they carry that's made in the USA. Nothing in the kitchen or portion control (electronic) are made here. This kind of exercise requires a bit more than doing a Google search, which gets you pointed in the right direction, but questions still have to be asked.
