        I thought about making my own but i figured it would cost about that much just to buy regular steel these days, and my burner is kinda big like a stovetop one and i can adjust it real good but a camp stove might be even better, good idea there

          heres a cheap camp stove but does anyone know if 6,800 btus would be enough? doesnt sound very hot

            Not sure.... I have a 2 burner Coleman propane camp stove & use both a Cast Aluminum & a Cast Iron griddle on them & they work Great...

              yes i have a coleman one too but its in the popup camper, guess ill have to try it on it when i get it, i just figured for 15 bucks if that one would work it would be good to have two. the coleman says its 20,000 btus so not sure about that one, maybe be its 10,000 per burner so the other one is 12,800 btus total

                      Hmmm that shakes out to about 2KW-hours. Given the thermal radiation, imperfect heat transfer and general fudge factors (VERY scientific) I'd say that's gonna be a bit low for a good "sizzle" across the unit surface. Especially in a bit of a breeze. You definately want "extra" heat available in the case of having to "fill 'er up" for feeding a few folks.

                          Well i got it to day and man i whooped up the best breakfast ever!!! Definatly the best hash browns ever!! I give it two thumbs up for sure!!
