I wouldn't worry too much about leaks. You got a 3 inch hole in the top where smoke comes out anyway. For me if I've got smoke coming out under the lid of my SnP it means the smoke is too heavy and I need to back off anyway.

Well thank you guys for all stopping by, I actually I'm putting my smoker into retirement. The project is still on though.
So my Home Depot didn't carry the smoker I've been looking at, so I ended up driving a lil more then a hour to another home Depot and picked this baby up.
I'm not going to assemble it till I get my gasket kit it in. Then I have a 5lb brisket waiting to be smoked.
