Lena's birthday with a buncha pics of food!

Well Monday was Mamma's b-day so we both took the day off work Any excuse will work to miss a Monday at work eh...

Anyway the cooking began on Sunday...

Here the brisket has been on about two hours and the ABTs have just hit the grill...Cookin with hickory and mesquite which is the standard for beef around here.... The brisket will be for Monday nites supper...



The ABTs are ready...Lena really loves her ABTs...



On the other grill we started some ribeyes for Sunday nites supper...


Just turned...............oh yeah...........



After the steaks were resting I laid some okra down cause thats what Mamma likes....


Sundays supper was right onSteak, grilled okra, Some bean and spud thing that Lena made and some ABTs...


Fastforward to Monday nites supper...Here is some okra cookin with tomatoes...


And finally the brisket on the plate...with some fried zuccinni and the okra stuff.......The little slobbering smilie thing just isnt gonna do this justice


Anyway...I think Mamma ate well and we had a great time too...I'll let y'all ask her how old she is...........I aint touchin that one...

Great lookin dishes and Happy Birthday Lena. I grew okra a cupla times but it's just so dang slimy. When you grilled it, does the slime disappear? I tried mine and tossed it and never grew it again. It does get a nice flower on it though.

Just fried the okra in some bacon grease and then added the maters for a while....Man it was good
