Wow this is a blast from the past. I remember and still use this recipe.

It was one of the first things I found when I left the main land and found everyone on the island. Seven years ago....Thanks for the bump

Substitute the Sugar with brown sugar.
Also try adding 1/4 cup of Worcestershire powder.

              I really like this change

Seems I used brown sugar as a sub but it clumped to much any way I will make a batch soon.

The brown sugar did clump. I loved the flavor though.

Used this on some spares yesterday, pretty dang good. The cumin is a little strong for me so I'll cut that back some and try the Worcestershire powder addition as well. I like me some Worcestershire ! I read somewhere that nutmeg can reduce the impact of the cumin so I might give that a try as well.. Endless options out there. Thanks again for letting us Newbs get a glimpse of this !

Instead of brown sugar, I use Turbinado in a lot of stuff. You get some of the molasses flavor, but it doesn't have the moisture that brown sugar has.

I use Turbinado in a lot of things... I just run it thru the grinder to get a finer grind.
