Default Maverick 732's

K this question was raised this morning at work....Both me and a buddy are using the Maverick 732's I got mine first then bought him one for Christmas when I got mine I just put the temp probe thru a piece of wood like I've seen ya'll do and it works fine but the one I bought him came with a clip for the grate does the clip transmit more heat to the probe or not ??

Interesting. My call...would be it would depend on how far the clip is away from the actual sensor at the tip. Undoubtedly it does thru conduction... but the air temp and the grate temps should be pretty close anyway...

My 732 clip works great. Love it.

I also have the clip and the way it is constructed with the pass thru for the probe I don't think there is going to be any additional heat conducted if you push the probe thru the clip at least 1/2 way. It is my understanding that the readings are in the actual tip of the probe not the entire probe. I could be wrong but that is what Maverick told me when I called to ask about something else
