Personally I haven't noticed the lingering smell in mine, but I do take mine off and wash it after every use and store it outside the instantpot.
Thanks for mentioning that. I just ordered one.

I do have a large pressure canner...Dont use it any more...
My wife has a smaller pressure cooker that rarely gets used...
She has more crock pots than I have grills And they only get used to re-warm food for our "parties"...

I doubt that the instant pot would find much use here...

Looks like a fine unit though...

        They are the rage here.

My lovely bride has requested on so I do see one in the future.

Hard "boiled" eggs in 6 minutes on the steam setting, then into ice water bath..... shells came off easily..... so far, so good

No pics unfortunately, next time...but take my word for it, this machine is for real. 75 minutes for chunks of super tender pork butt.

I've had mine for 3 or 4 years and use it a lot. Since I'm a griller at heart I use mine for mostly soups and sides. It does make good hard boiled eggs that are easy to peel. Other favorite sides mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, beans. It does take a while to warm up and up get to pressure but a little preplanning is not so bad.
