Looks damn good SMOKE FREAK. A good cook doesn't need the hyped products to turn out a good meal.

My Lil ol Chargriller has cast iron grates...That kinda heat would cook the seasoning right out of the c.i.

Personally Im just waiting to see how many folks are bitching about having to replace their weber grates soon...That kinda heat is gonna take its toll

Just buy another grate now. And make it that "gormet" or whatever they call it..the wok grate. Use the reg grate for searing only.

Might be onto something Craig..... Mine look pretty stressed after a cook with it. Prolly look at those gourmet grates or whatever they call them with the open middle portions some day, or just hack a center circle outta one with me mad metal working skills

150 for the weber gold since I cant find a used one...30-40 bucks for the vortex...30 bucks more for the grate with the center missing...And my kingsford budget goes thru the roof....Hmmm...Im staying old school for now
