  • Smokin up a storm

Well I have been smoking on different vertical smokers off and on for a few years, but only could do it on weekends when I could tend the smoker.

I just won a Green Mountain Pellet Grill a couple months ago and it has enabled me to smoke all week long.. I am going thru all types of tasty animals at a alarming rate now...my co-workers don't seem to mind though as I seem to cook way more than I could possibly eat..

Look forward to learning a few new tricks here....

I work second shift and like to smoke after I get off work. With my stick eaters and chip burners I had to tend them several times a night. This smoker has a 19 LB hopper for pellets and will hold temp all night long at + or - 10 degrees. It just does its thing all night long without needing to be tended...Only uses about a half a pound of pellets an hour at about 225 degrees...Will munch them pellets at a higher rate if you raise it to grilling temperatures though...This thing can Smoke, BBQ, and Grill... (150 degrees to 500 degrees). I use a Maverick ET-73 remote thermometer to wake me up if the meat hits a temp that I want to foil it at or if the power fails and it shuts down then it will wake me when the temp drops below a set temp..
