  • Laid up from surgery...Gotta smoke something...Before I go nuts..

    However...
The lid on the Longhorn is probably going to exceed the weight restriction that my doc gave me...

So I break out the Smokin Gun that was a gift from my daughter...

Drilled some holes in a peanut jar and inserted the hose...

    This setup should work, eh

Fill the jar with peanuts...Lightly salted dry roasted...Soon to be smoked...

Filled the bowl with cherry sawdust and applied the lighter

    POOF!
    We got smoke...

And a close up of the smoked peanuts.................................

Can you tell how friggin bored I am...

Definitely made the nuts taste smoky...
Not the smoky that I am used to from my stickburner...
Did it satisfy my need for fire and smoke...
    NO!
Hell no...I gotta grill something soon before I go nuts...

Wow, what a person will do to get their fix.
And I think a lot of us understand.

for my laugh of the day Craig.

Hey, hope you get on the mend soon !

                      Gotta love your resourcefulness there.

Just an idea to suggest. Kentucky Fire Crackers....smoked. If you could get a batch of em made, you might smoke a sleeve of em just to try and let us know. It's something on my bucket list to try cold smoking. But you got the perfect set up for it.

careful there Craig, you wouldn't want to blow out any stitches by using too much Smittys on them crackers......
Once you go Weber....you never call customer service....

Yeah, but when you are screaming "GET IT OUT, OH LAWD THAT CHIT BURNS!" a few hours after ingestion, it ain't gonna matter if them stitches are in your big toe..... they gonna be strained....

BTW, how did Lena's reunion with her shoe go, post-op?
