What diameter was that pan you found, Z?
The manufacturer did reply to me early this morning and confirmed that they use pre-galvanized sheet steel for much of their product line, including their utility pans. They have their steel blanks put through an additional process which yields that shinier, faux-stainless appearance, which also helps to further seal up the grain of the metal for a longer lasting product.
I have a restaurant supply wholesaler about 20 miles from my house, so it looks like I will be taking a road trip later today to check out the scratch & dent section of their store.
Thanks all for your opinions and guidance.

There are no bad briskets... only poorly executed ones.
16 inch. They are not deep but work fine to hold the ashes. Im assuming you are bolting onto your charcoal basket.
