  • Chicken Wings & Tater Tots on the Grill

Decided to grill up some wings & tots for dinner.

Wings were brined in seasoned Nekkid brine for 8 hours

Out of the brine, dried, & seasoned with a spicy rub

Tater Tots right out of the freezer

Wings & tots into the Keg heated to 400° using RO lump & pecan wood

Everything almost done. Wings were basted with a mixture of Frank's hot sauce, butter, & lime juice

Wings & tots served up with some hot sauce for dipping

    Closer view

    Thanks for lookin'
    Jim

Hey Jim, did you do anything special t those tots? normally I expect them fried, but did they come out ok in that pan? Sometimes if you bake them they get kinda "squishy" versus crispy. Just wondering if you had a secret recipe going there. If my kiddos see this post, I'm gonna be in front of a grill for hours...

The pan is very thin(it's a disposable). I didn't do anything special to them. I did leave the pan in the whole time I was cooking the wings(35-40 min). So they did cook longer than what the package called for(package says 20 min). Also, they were about 1/2 thawed when I put them in the grill.

Edit: I forgot that I did coat the bottom of the pan with a heavy coating of Pam butter spray for baking.
